Phynix Roughness tester TR-200

Phynix Roughness tester TR-200

Roughness tester with exchangeable probe

The TR 200 is a precision surface roughness tester with exchangeable probe for fast and accurate determination of surface roughness according to Ra, Ra and 11 more roughness parameters. Due to its small dimensions it can be used both in production and in the laboratory. The simple, menu-driven handling as well as high repeatability draw are key Features of the TR-200.

After pressing the start button the micro probe scans the surface within a few seconds and then immediately shows digitally in accordance with the preselected cut-off wavelength (cut-off length) either the Ra or Ry.

The graphic display Shows both the numerical values of the roughness and the material ratio curve. The measured data allows the calculation of 13 different roughness figures (Ra, Rz, Ry, Rq, Rt, Rp, Rmax, Rm, R3z, S, Sm, Sk, Tp).

Phynix Roughness tester TR-110

Phynix Roughness tester TR-110

Portable roughness testing Ra and Rz

The small portable surface roughness tester TR – 110 has been designed especially for the fast and accurate measurement on the shop floor. It works on the same piezoelectric microprobe principle as is used for high precision labor equipment. The ease of use as well as the high repeatability are special features of the TR – 110.

After pressing the start button the micro probe scans the surface within a few seconds and then immediately shows either the value Rz or Ra. To determine both parameters Ra and Rz the surface needs to be scanned only once. The integrated slide can be slid over the probe to protect the diamond tip when not in use. In addition, the 1.5 – minute switch-off mode protects the lithium ion battery against unnecessary discharge.

Phynix Porosity detection

Phynix Porosity detection

Pore detection in electrically insulating layers

The porosity detector series DC Compact are used for easy detection of pores and flaws in electrically insulating layers (for example lacquers, enamels, plastic coatings) on all metals or concrete. DC Compact instruments are particularly useful in the production and out in the field, eg. for pipelines, storage tanks or enameled construction parts. The portable porosity detector DC Compact consists of a fully insulated plastic housing and a the high voltage probe incl. brush. Using a special strap, the device can easily be carried, so that both hands are free for testing.

The porosity test is performed with a low-energy high DC voltage. Depending on the device type, the test voltage can be adjusted continuously from 0 to 15 kV or 30 kV. The test voltage is determined exclusively by the thickness of the layer to be tested. Therefore the film thickness should be measured before testing in order to prevent high voltage damage. A reference table which is part of the delivery content helps to determine the best test voltage which depends on the layer thicknesses.

The test procedure is performed by slowly pulling the brush with ca. 30 cm/s over the layer to be tested. A defect is indicated by sparkover and additionally by an audible and visual signal. The sensitivity is adjustable. For optimum test results different brushes are available like flat brushes and round brushes for internal and external testing on tubes.

Phynix Cross hatch cutter

Phynix Cross hatch cutter

For measurements according to DIN EN ISO 2409 or ASTM D3359-02

Handy cross hatch cutter for measurements of adhesion of coating material on Substrate. PHYNIX cross hatch cutters are reasonably priced devices, meeting all cross cut standards. They consist of an exchangeable multiple blade device made of hardened tool steel, a rugged holdfast made of aluminum, as well as an ergonomically formed synthetic hand grip.

The freely turn-able hand grip always ensures the correct position of cutting edges on the surface during cutting.

The cylindrical cutting system consists of 6 cutting edges with 6 respectively 11 grinds each. High quality multiple blade devices made of tool steel ensure a long durability. After attrition of one cutting edge the device can easily be rotated to continue with a new unused edge. A hex key for an easy exchange of the blade, a brush to clean the scarified surface, as well as a magnifying glass for the evaluation of the edges cut are included in the delivery.

Phynix Surfix® SX / EX

Phynix Surfix® SX / EX

Modern coating thickness measurement: graphic display, PC connection, easy operation, as well as the proven PHYNIX probes

The outstanding feature of this new PHYNIX gauge is the brilliant color graphic display with improved text presentation and allows a variety of different operating languages. The standard now includes English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Czech and Chinese. The internal memory was greatly enlarged compared to the Surfix series and now allows the storage of up to 2,000 measured values. The connection to a computer is simply via USB 2.0. PHYNIX.connect, a data transmission program for all modern Windows systems, facilitates the transfer of measured values into Excel.

Two models are available: the Surfix® SX can be connected to all probes from the PHYNIX probe program. This ensures the highest possible flexibility which enables the device to fulfill many different measurement tasks. The Surfix® EX devices with the fixed standard probe are suitable for applications where the measurement tasks are clearly defined. It is easy to use and also more cost efficient compared to the Surfix® SX with the high-quality plug-in Connection.

Phynix Surfix® Pro X

Phynix Surfix® Pro X

State of the art measurement technology

Our new premium product meets the high requirements of modern coating thickness measurement gauges with its´ many new features.

A brilliant high-resolution color display is the most strinking difference to our previous premium product Surfix® Pro S. It features the use of many different character sets, and therefore substantially increases the number of available languages for user guidance e.g. Chinese. The bright high-contrast display makes for a reliable reading of the measurements from a distance or in darkness.

The platform “Industrie 4.0” demands an improved connection of measurment devices and product controls: Surfix® Pro X meets this demand with Bluetooth 4.0 und USB 2.0 interfaces and realizes a fully connected production environment. For this purpose the capacity of the data storage has been upgraded. It can now store up to 100.000 values including date, time and calibration in files and folders.

Surfix® Pro X offers exchangeable probes and highest precision combined with simple handling in almost every application area.

Phynix Surfix® easy X

Phynix Surfix® easy X

Versatile usable coating thickness gauge

The universally applicable coating thickness gauges of the Surfix ® easy X family are suitable for everyday use in the operations as well as for demanding laboratory measurements. The Surfix ® easy X series is ideal for customers who want to measure coating thickness in a simple way, but also reqiure a statistical evaluation, a wear-resistant measuring and a high production quality “Made in Germany”.

A one-point calibration function is available for carrying out difficult measuring tasks. With this calibration function, also called “zeroing”, the measurement accuracy can be increased. The built-in online statistic allows a fast display of mean value and standard deviation as well as the largest and smallest measured value.

The Surfix® easy X are offered as Surfix® easy X I with an integrated probe and as Surfix® easy X E with external, firmly connected probe. Both variants are available as combination devices FN for coating thickness measurements on iron/steel and non-ferrous metals and as F-types for coating thickness measurements exclusively on iron/steel. Two proven measuring methods for the thickness measurement are applied: the magnetic and the eddy current process (DIN EN ISO 2178 and 2360). Both offer the highest precision even in the case of thin coatings, on steel as well as on non-ferrous metals. The FN types use both methods; The selection is done automatically when the probe is set on the measurement object.

Phynix Roughness tester KR-110

Phynix Roughness tester KR-110

Roughness testing according to Ra, Rz, Rq and Rt

The PHYNIX roughness tester KR – 110 is characterized by high accuracy, a wide range of applications with large measuring range, easy operation and a stable construction. It is used to determine the surface roughness according to Ra, Rz , Rq and Rt and can be used for measurements on all types of metals and non-metals.

During the measuring process the sensor moves linearly along the traverse length. At the same time, the probe tip is slowly moved up and down according to the roughness profile. These movements are converted into electric signals, amplified, filtered and digitized. With the help of a digital signal processor, the digital voltage values are converted into the desired parameters Ra, Rz, Rq and Rt and finally displayed.
